To me brownies always have to have a bit of a nutty crunch, and in this recipe I've also added another punch of chocolate with white chocolate chips! Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream for a fool proof dessert.
Yields 9 brownies
2/3 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup butter
4oz dark bakers chocolate
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
1/3 cup white chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350F and line a 8x8 (or 9x9) pan with parchment paper. Leave the parchment paper large enough that two edges hang over the sides for easy removal.
- In a bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt and set aside.
- In a medium to large sauce pot melt the butter and chocolate together and then turn off the heat. Stir in the sugar and then add in the eggs one at a time, mixing until completely combined.
- Mix in the dry ingredients and then the vanilla, nuts, and chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for around 25 minutes until the top is just dry and slightly firm to the touch. Cool completely before removing from pan and cutting.
