To me brownies always have to have a bit of a nutty crunch, and in this recipe I've also added another punch of chocolate with white chocolate chips! Serve warm with a scoop of ice cream for a fool proof dessert.

Yields 9 brownies

2/3 cup flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup butter
4oz dark bakers chocolate
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
1/3 cup white chocolate chips

  1. Preheat oven to 350F and line a 8x8 (or 9x9) pan with parchment paper. Leave the parchment paper large enough that two edges hang over the sides for easy removal.
  2. In a bowl mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt and set aside.
  3. In a medium to large sauce pot melt the butter and chocolate together and then turn off the heat. Stir in the sugar and then add in the eggs one at a time, mixing until completely combined.
  4. Mix in the dry ingredients and then the vanilla, nuts, and chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into your prepared pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake for around 25 minutes until the top is just dry and slightly firm to the touch. Cool completely before removing from pan and cutting.
