Brownies are not really a traditional Christmas dessert but it's perfect if you are looking for something easy to make that will please everyone's taste! And decorating them with a Christmas tree makes them extra cute!
Yields 12 squares
1 cup melted butter
2/3 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
2/3 cup melted semi-sweet chocolate
3/4 cup flour
Pinch of salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup green vanilla icing
Christmas non-pareils
- Preheat the oven to 350F.
- Combine the melted butter and sugar together.
- Add the eggs, salt and vanilla. Mix well.
- Add the melted chocolate. Mix well.
- Incorporate the flour gradually and mix until well combined.
- Add the chocolate chips and mix with a wooden spoon.
- Pour the batter in a 11x7" baking pan previously coated with butter and flour.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Let cool down.
- Cut the brownies in 12 pieces. Place the green icing in a piping bag with a small round tip.
- Pipe a Christmas tree on each piece of brownies and decorate with Christmas non-pareils.
